چکیده
Vasectomy has been widely accepted as a popular contraceptive device. There are several contradictory reports on the vasectomy (7. 11. 13, 15). While some investigators reported that vasectomy leads to depression or loss of libido, degeneration of testis. hyperplasia of interstitial elements, reduction in testicular weight impaired spermatogenesis. pathological changes in the epididymis. dilation of cauda epididymis, formation of sperm cysts and sperm granuloma at the cut ends of the vasdeferens. decreased epididymal resorption and alteration in androgen levels (1, 3,7.11, 1'3.15), the othErs reported that it has no side effect on the reproductive system (7, 11, 16, 17), Our !=,revious studies on vasectomy revealed (7) the sr;aring of testicular carbohydrates with lipid mobilization into its metabolism. However, there is no information on the overall changes in the lipid profiles of sex accessory organs and non-reproductive tissues in vasectomized rats. Hence an attempt has been made in the present study to evaluate the possible side effects of vasectomy on the tissue lipid profiles of the animal

A Morphometric Study of the Effects of Bilateral Vasectomy on Testis in Rats
SUMMARY The testes of five wistar rats 2 months after bilateral vasectomy was compared with those of shamoperated controls. Aims were to determine whether there are any changes in the wistar rat testis after vasectomy. Two testis in the vasectomized group displayed histological changes, which consisted of depletion of germ cells, vacuolation in the epithelium, folding of basement membrane ...
متن کاملP-211: The Effects of Vasectomy on Histological Structure of Epididymis and Testis in Rat Model
Background: Vasectomy is a simple and highly effective contraceptive method with a low morbidity rate and an extremely low mortality rate. during the past decade millions of men have undergone vasectomy, but there have been surprisingly few studies of morphological effects of genital organs after vasectomy. The most important issues about vasectomy are degenerative changes in testicular tissue,...
متن کاملEffect of bilateral vasectomy on testicular metabolism in albino rats.
The adult Wistar strain albino rats were vasectomised by conventional method and maintained for six months. The vasectomized rat testis had elevated water content with depleted dry matter. Glycogen content was increased with indication of mobilization of hexoses into HMP pathway. The vasectomized rat testis showed preferential utilisation of triglycerides. In view of increased 3 beta-HSD and 17...

Background: Vasectomy is a widespread contraceptive method in men. In recent years, the number of men who perform vasectomy reversal is increasing. Vasectomy has complications, probably leading to vasectomy reversal failure. It is assumed that oxidative stress is the main cause of these complications. The aim of this study was to investigate the indices of oxidative stress serum after vasecto...
